PodcastsPodcasts and Audio Clips
Audio clips are a quick and easy way to put class content on-line. Some instructors actually make audio recordings of the lectures and post them for student review. Other teachers use audio for supplemental material, especially material where voice tone and expression are important, or demonstrations of music, speaking methods, etc. Students can download audio clips in mp3 format (and other formats) onto their portable audio players for listening at their leisure.

This clip was recorded using Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/). Audacity is a free audio recording/editing program with a very easy to use interface and a lot of advanced capabilities available if you want them. But basically all I had to do after downloading and installing the program was (1) hit record (2) talk into the microphone plugged into my computer (3) save as an mp3 file and (4) upload the file to this wiki.
To learn how to publish these audio clips as podcasts visit the iTunes U seciton of this wiki. |
